Hi Kevin,
If you are still looking for a shoal draft Hylas 46, we are thinking of putting our 2002 model on the market.  It has very extensive blue water cruising equipment and spares.  However we are located in Brisbane Australia.  The exchange rate is very favourable for Americans at the moment. We are asking AUS$400,000 (currently around US$277,000).

regards

I am looking to purchase a shoal draft Hylas 46.

They seem to be hard to find, with most of them having the 6'6" draft.

Does anyone have a lead for a boat that may be available?

Thanks,

Kevin

Dear Kevin,

We are looking for the same. If you DO find one and for whatever reason don't think it's for you, please let me know. I'll do the same for you. Rich

Kevin,
Depending on where you want to sail, we have found our deep draft 46 is really not an issue. We have cruised much of the US East Coast from Fl to NYC, Hudson River to Lake Champlain, the Bahamas and the Caribbean from BVI to Carriacou. The only place where we felt restricted was in the Florida Keys and in the Abacos.
Our prior boat was a 41 foot shoal draft and we sold it due to to poor upwind performance and bought the Hylas 46. The performance of our boat is as good or better than I ever expected and when you really MUST go to windward the boat gives good speed, pointing ability and comfort.

We really do not miss our old shoal draft for even one minute!
Cheers
