Looks Like I'll go with Garhauer stainless davits.  They make custom sizes.  If I mount them on the top step, the reach won't be unreasonably long.

I put Kato Voyager davits on our H46 in 2013 and have been very pleased.  They are not able to swivel or be removed, but are strong and match the boat design very well.  As previously mentioned, Kato are good folks to work with.

Old thread - same question.

Anyone use anything besides the Kato Voyagers on their 49?  The long transom makes adding davits challenging!  I'd love to make them out of carbon fiber, but I have not found an off the shelf elbow I would have confidence in and I've never worked with CF.

Added Kato Voyager davits to H49-50 LeCheile a few years ago, very good decision .... the 49 has a narrower stern than 46/54, so we were worried about access and space, but the Davits fit well, and make things much easier that deck storage ....i still put our dinghy on foredeck on a passage, but local/island hopping - davits are great... added a few pics, let me know if you need more...BP

We installed Kato voyager davits on our 46’ four years ago and have had zero issues. They are great. They Algriped to match our dark blue hull and included the winches. We mounted on first step and Kato makes an extended version for that. As I recall, we had to split the backing plate because the second step riser got in the way, but that riser also provided extra rigidity to the assembly. Kato was very easy to work with. We highly recommend them. JR

Just looking to renew this conversation as we are also owners of a H49 and didn't see any responses on the initial post.  We've looked at the Kato Marine Voyager series, so wondering if those or other options proved successful for anyone.  As always appreciate the wisdom of the group.

We are the new owners of H 49 hull 49 and are contemplating adding davits. Can anyone recommend a system that works well on the H49, preferably a system that can rotate and is removable like a Kato Islander.
Thanks,
