I'll echo that removal of the faucet was very doable (on our boat at least) without removing the sink. We replaced ours with a much nicer and user-friendly faucet without removing the sink. Later on, we did eventually remove and replace our sink - a huge job. Your sink is overmount though, and ours was undermount. I think removal of yours would be far easier (not saying "easy"). Careful work with a putty knife, hammer, and maybe some help from a heat gun should do it. The box underneath ours was obviously installed before laying in the Corian countertop. Screws going into that box were put in from the top. So two options: (1) remove all the trim and fiddles, remove the corian. (2) Destroy the box from underneath. We did option 2. Lots of good info for both over and undermounted sinks here: http://hylasyachts.org/index.php/topic,899.msg3202.html#msg3202

If it's just the leaky faucet you're wanting to fix, definitely try to get at it without sink removal. Saying that, there's a lot of variation in our boats in this area, so maybe not possible.

I know there is no typical installation here, but it was relatively easy in my case too.  The plumbing was accessible from the forward compartment of the deep bilge, near the stairs.  Unscrew the retaining nut for the faucet, detach the hot and cold water connectors, lift the faucet out from above the sink.

I replaced mine with a standard Lowe

I know it looks buried but if you can get the retaining nut off with the plumbers wrench the connecting pipes are all semi flexible and you can pull them down to reconnect. For us if you lay on your back on top of the engine there is room to get your hands close.

I'll try to get a better look up underneath using a lit mirror. The plumbing looks buried up an innaccesible hole.
Thanks for your comments.

Mine had sealant around the rim and metal clips on the underside of the sink.  Standard stuff used in homes.  Maybe 4-6 clips.
I'd avoid removing the sink if feasible.

We just replaced out faucet. Not so hard as long as you have a plumbers wrench.  Seems drastic to have to remove the sink to do so. But maybe you have a very different set up?

Galley Sink Removal

Hi All
An old topic but I couldn't find the answer I need. Sink needs to come out to get access to the faucet plumbing which is leaking quite badly. Might just replace the faucet while in there.
Can anyone identify is this is an over or under counter fixed sink. If over, I hope that it can be just prised off the sealant and rebedded.
I have read the horror stories about removing the under counter fixed ones.
Thanks
Andy
