How to lead sheets for a staysail on a Hylas 54?

Thanks for this. I will go with the jib car. I did also install running back-stays, so I have that part covered.
Did you use wire or Dyneema for the forestay?

Our staysail sheets go from clew through a stand up block on the coachroof (which to me seem undersized if the ss is used as a storm jib) to a forward car on the genoa track then straight to the secondary winch.    It was not like this originally and we scuffed the fiberglass on the cabin top.  So we just got new genoa cars and used the old ones for the staysail sheet, which get less forces applied than the genoa cars.     It does not really matter the forward/aft position of these cars as their position does not affect the lead angle of the sheet, so you can place in a position that is best for a good lead to the winch

I also installed a staysail on my 46....I did use a snatch block on the toe rail for the furler. For the sheetlines, there  always was a stand up spring/block....that then led to the winches. More importantly (in my eyes) is running back stays for the staysail. If you have a Selden mast...you prolly already have the tangs in the mast to receive the J toggle. I picked up the J/toggles from Selden....and am in the process of rigging same...

I just installed an inner forestay on my 2005 Hylas 54. The deck and mast fittings were all there, but it had never had the forestay installed. What is the best way to lead the sheets? It appears that if you just go straight back from the blocks to the winches, it will rub on the salon top. Do you lead to a mini car on the jib track or a snatch block on the rub rail or...
