Hi.
Did anyone make a move on installing their heater?  I am presently staging a heater in our H44 and our first thought was to use the center lazarette as it stays pretty dry as long as the scuppers on the hatch are not clogged :).

We have a Webasto hot air furnace. It is not hydronic. The heating unit sits underneath the aft cabin bunk. Air is drawn into the unit from the inside of the cabin, not ideal but the way it was when the boat was purchased. Exhaust is out the stern. Tubing takes warm air to each cabin. Louvers allow us to control airflow.

I wonder how different the aft locker arrangement is on a 44 compared with a 46 which is basically a 44 with a sugarscoop added.
We have a hydronic heater in the aft starboard locker on our 46. It is tucked inboard under the deck and has removable side and top panels to seperate it from the locker contents (mooring warp mostly) and to keep it dry. The exhaust goes out the stern and is nice and short.

I'm considering putting in a diesel hydronic heater unit in my Hylas 44.  My question has anyone else done this?  And where did you install the heater?  I've heard the heater needs to be installed as close as possible to where the exhaust exits the boat.  I've been told one of the lockers in the aft of the boat would be good spot for the heater.  My only concern is those lockers are not water tight.  Any comments one where these heaters should be installed on a Hylas 44 would be greatly appreciated.
