We had fabricated metal plates to extend the existing anchor roller. They are held in place by the existing anchor roller pin and bolts and nuts through the existing holes for the locking pin. If the boat was not 2000 miles away, I would share a picture.

Chiming in again here from Matriesa. We have the Rockna 33 (73lbs) and she holds the 46' like a champ in almost all bottom condition anchorages. She resets perfectly when we do swing and it's the only anchor I can sleep well on. I also use "Safe Anchor" app on my iphone on the night stand and feel very comfortable with the the setup. I have to agree with Nirvana though as I would not drill a hole in the shank as it could degrade the engineering of it. I recommend rigging a line as your anchor safety.

We have a 73lb Rocna as well on Moonshine.  Looking back I would consider a Vulcan due to the constraints of the roll bar.  Great anchor though and we have a line from the pulpit to the anchor as well.  Great purchase and serious peace of mind.  We use a Mantus swivel as well.

We installed a Rockna on Nirvana last year.  Best decision we ever made.  We do not use the pin hole for the same reason as you, instead I did something similar to Brian suggestion by tying a short line to the bow pulpit with a shackle to clip into the hole.
That hole on the Rockna  is actually designed for tandem anchoring described in the manual and they specifically warn in the manual not to drill without consulting their engineers regarding stress points (sorry Merrill  :)  )

John,
Another option would be to attach a short line to the anchor and cleat it on a bow cleat as the safety.

John,
When we installed the Rocna on Ambition, I had to have a hole drilled in the shank to align with the locking pin. DaviD in Jolly did the work for me in 20 minutes ...

Question on Rocna anchor on H49
« Reply #1 on: June 27, 2021, 05:23:14 PM »
Has anyone a Rocna 37 (73 lbs) on their H49? Specifically was there any problem with the existing anchor pin hole on the stock Rocna 37 aligning with the anchor pin location on the H49?
