Title: Lighthouse Windlass problem
Post by: jt11791 on September 10, 2018, 06:00:31 PM
My H54 came with a Lighthouse 1501 windlass, which seems to be a very nice piece.  It had a remote control head with chain counter in the cockpit, but when I purchased the boat the chain counter wasn't working.  Lighthouse no longer makes these counters, so I'm thinking of buying a third party unit, such as a Lewmar AA560 to replace it.  Has anyone else gone through this?  I'm hoping to find a replacement that can be wired to the existing cable so I don't have to pull a new bow-to-cockpit cable.

To follow up my own post, I went with a Lewmar windlass control & chain counter.  Hooking it up wasn't too hard, just had to fab a cable to connect with the original Lighthouse one.  The Lighthouse company was helpful, giving me the pin-outs.
