Title: H49 Shaft replacement
Post by: Witsend49 on February 22, 2021, 09:48:11 PM
Hi all,

I am in the process of planning the replacement of the prop shaft on my H49 hull 17. I would like to order a new shaft ahead of a planned May haul out and wonder if anyone out there knows the length of the shaft. Powered by a Yanmar 4JH2-TE with the KBW20 gear. From previous maintenance I do know that it is a 1-1/2 inch shaft with standard SAE taper for the prop.

As my wife and I are live aboard with two dogs, I really want to minimize on the hard time with them in a local hotel. Any knowledge regarding shaft replacement, and sourcing the shaft and coupling would be appreciated.

Gary,

Queen Long will probably have the answer.  They sent me build photos for my 44 recently!

Thanx for the quick reply Joel. Do you have an updated email address for them? I think I should order the hull side stern tube while I am at it.

I usually email Candy:  candy@hylasyachts.com.tw

With the time difference replies come in at strange times.

Good luck with the haulout.

Thanx again Joel. The only one I had was the generic qlmarine address
